This Ontario Christmas market is among the top 10 trending worldwide and it beat Switzerland

Looking for a taste of holiday magic? This Ontario Christmas market is the place to be. The attraction boasts endless lights, cozy drinks and dazzling decor, and was recently named among the top 10 trending Christmas markets in the world.

Ahead of the holiday season, Travel Insurance Company InsureandGo looked at online search data to discover which cities have the most Christmas market hype compared to last year.

The study analyzed search volumes for Christmas markets in cities around the world from July to September 2023 and July to September 2024 to create a list of this year's trending Christmas markets.

The Distillery Winter Village, formerly the Toronto Christmas Market, was the only Canadian destination to make the top 10, landing at fifth place on the list.

According to the study, the Distillery Winter Village has a popularity increase of 125% compared to last year, making it a stand-out destination for holiday magic.

The Skansen Christmas Market in Sweden topped the list with a 324% increase in popularity, followed by Bryant Park Christmas Market in the United States at 311%, Covent Garden Christmas Market in the United Kingdom at 238%, and Tivoli Christmas Market in Denmark at 140%.

Toronto's Distillery Winter Village beat destinations like Montreux Noël in Switzerland and the Frankfurt Christmas Market in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

This year, the Distillery Winter Village will run from November 13, 2024 to January 5, 2025. You can enjoy a glittering Dior Christmas tree, cute vendor cabins, festive treats and more.

Some new activations to check out include an indoor Santa's Village, Swiftie Holiday Hunt and dazzling photo ops.
