A Canadian company is looking for the best music video of 2020 created by an independent artist in Canada and it could totally be you!

That's right, the Canadian Independent Music Video Awards is on the hunt for various artistic works created this year which will be voted on and announced at a later date in 2021, according to a news release Tuesday.

Dropout Entertainment is now accepting nominations for their third year in a row and wanted to keep the annual event going despite the pandemic in order to continue highlighting Canadian artists.

"We started the CIMVAs because there just wasn't anything like it anywhere in the world at the time," Jesse Read, Founder of Dropout Entertainment said.

"There is just this huge gap - at least for music videos - award shows never gave independent artist's videos the recognition they deserve. We wanted to change that."

This year, nominations will close on December 15, 2020, and Canada-wide voting will start on January 4th, 2021.

The Canadian winners will be announced in February at a live event, however, they said they will have an alternative plan if a live award is not an option.

The winners will walk away with over $2,500 worth of prizes and $500 in cash.
