Stock up on tissues! You'll want to get lost in this upcoming romantic drama when you're in the mood for a cry fest. Amazon Prime's Chemical Hearts stars Riverdale's Lili Reinhart in a pretty different role that will totally get the waterworks running.

The trailer for the teen drama just premiered and Amazon writes that the film is "an unapologetic, coming of age story involving a hopeless romantic and a young woman with a mysterious past."

Reinhart executive produces and stars as transfer student Grace Town who meets 17-year-old Henry Page, played by Austin Abrams.

Henry has never fallen in love but "fancies himself a romantic", though the "once-in-a-lifetime love he's been hoping for just hasn't happened yet," per Amazon.

In a voiceover, Henry says, "You are never more alive than when you're a teenager. Your brain is flush with chemicals that can turn your life into a story of epic proportions. And yet by the start of my senior year, nothing interesting had ever happened to me. Then something finally happened."

Eventually, Grace and Henry get chosen to be co-editors on their school's paper, drawing his interest in the new student.

"As he learns the heartbreaking secret that has changed her life, he finds himself falling in love with her —or at least the person he thinks she is," writes Amazon.

The trailer sees Henry ask Grace why she gave up writing and is so reluctant to contribute her own work for the paper.

"I was asked to write something about someone really important to me but I just couldn't find the words," Grace responds.

"It's funny because I can't find the words when I talk and you can't find the words when you write," Henry adds.

Grace says in a voiceover, "There's a reason why when every adult talks about young people they can't avoid the truth. That being young is so painful, it's almost too much to feel."

The film is based on Our Chemical Hearts by Krystal Sutherland and follows the teenager's journey of self-discovery including the highs and lows of growing up.

IMDb notes that cast members include Sarah Jones, Kara Young, Coral Peña, C.J. Hoff, Shannon Walsh, and Bruce Altman.

The streamer released a first-look clip at the drama last week. In the video, Grace and Henry get acquainted with each other for what looks like the first time.

Chemical Hearts premieres on Amazon Prime on August 21. Check out the trailer below.
