Tropical Storm Zeta formed in the Caribbean Sea early Sunday morning and is expected to hit the Southeast this week.

The storm is predicted to turn into a Category 1 hurricane before making landfall in Louisiana on Wednesday and moving through the Southeast and into Georgia.

The tropical storm is currently moving at 70 mph — just 4 mph short of a Category 1 — and is gaining strength as it barrels towards the Gulf Coast.

Zeta is forecast to pass over Georgia with rain and winds between Wednesday night and early Friday morning.

The storm is expected to bring at least three inches of rain in some areas of Georgia, as well as gusty winds and the possibility of isolated tornadoes

A flash flood watch has already been issued for Wednesday and Thursday, including metro Atlanta.

Luckily, the storm system is expected to move out of Georgia on Friday, just in time for a dry Halloween.
