If your morning coffee wasn't enough to jolt you awake, Bell's massive internet outage across Ontario and Quebec certainly did the trick.

According to Downdetector, over 130,000 users reported issues with Bell's services starting just after 9 a.m. on Wednesday. The problems centred around landline internet, Wi-Fi, mobile data, and total blackouts.

From the GTA to Montreal, the digital silence was deafening.

Frustrated users flooded social media, with one posting on X, "Is it just me…or is Bell internet not working?"

Another lamented, "Is there a Bell outage? Cause my internet just dropped in the Scarborough area."

Some even joked about not having to work this morning.

"Thank you, Bell Canada, for having a province-wide outage. Your incompetence got me out of meetings for the morning."

Another said sarcastically, "Not a Bell internet outage during office hours."

The outage didn't just disrupt Netflix binges and morning video calls; it also impacted essential services. According to CTV News, Scotiabank's mobile and online banking platforms were reportedly down, leaving customers unable to access their accounts.

At 9:52 a.m., Bell posted an update on X.

"Some customers in Ontario and Quebec may be experiencing an Internet service interruption. We are working to restore service as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience."

Those still experiencing issues can visit Bell's Outage Check Tool for updates.
