If you have a sweet tooth, you'll want to plan a trip to this Ontario town. The destination is getting a massive butter tart festival with endless gooey treats.

Ontario's Best Butter Tart Festival, presented by Chapman's, is taking place in Midland on June 14, 2025, about two hours from Toronto.

According to the website, the annual event is "Canada's original and largest butter tart festival" and boasts entertainment, tasty treats and more.

The festival features over 200 vendors and food trucks around the downtown core and waterfront parks.

You'll find food vendors selling goods like homemade lemonade, ice slushies, and chips on a stick, as well as booths offering unique hats and bags, original artwork, fine jewelry, charcuterie boards, woodwork, and more.

Prepare for a serious sugar rush—over 300,000 butter tarts will be available, with vendors from across Ontario serving everything from classic favourites to unique specialty flavours. You'll even find gluten-free and vegan options so everyone can get a taste of the sweetness.

You can stroll along the quaint streets and enjoy the beautiful Georgian Bay views while getting your butter tart fill. There are also cute local boutiques and cozy cafes to check out during your visit.

Some of the events taking place throughout the day include a Kids Zone, live music, and butter tart judging.

The festival is free to visit and is a delicious way to enjoy a weekend.
