High River will be hosting a stunning air balloon festival this weekend and you've got to check out the spectacular colours. 

Heritage Inn International Balloon Festival will be welcoming 17 balloon pilots from all over the country who will be flying their balloons into the open Alberta skies.

Unlike other years, they will not be holding their "Balloon Glow" event, where they show the crowd how they warm up the balloons and send them into the night, according to the website.

But if you're in the area, you can still feast your eyes on the fleet of colourful balloons blotting the sky. 

Spectators are told not to gather at the festival grounds but you can follow the festival along on social media or from your window if you're lucky. You can also find a cozy little spot in High River and look up.
