Are you someone who is always passing on hiking trips with your friends? Just because you hate long treks through mosquito-infested forests, doesn't mean you can't enjoy time in nature. We found the perfect adventure for you to try. This aquamarine lake in Alberta is so easy to see this summer that you will impress your outdoorsy friends.

Half an hour north of Lake Louise, or two hours and 20 minutes from Calgary, is Bow Lake. It is one of the most massive bodies of water in Banff National Park.

What makes this area worth visiting for non-hikers is how easy it is to reach. Chances are you walk much further from the doors at the mall to your favourite store.

From the parking lot, it is just a few steps, and you are there. Plus, it is impossible to get lost along the way.

It is a flat straight-line path that only takes you between the shoreline and your car. Sounds easy, right?

Seconds after exiting your vehicle, you'll find yourself captivated by the unbelievably bright aquamarine hued water. The colour is so bright it could be a Pantone swatch.

The calm glacier-fed lake often has a mirror-like quality, reflecting Crowfoot Mountain. So make sure to have your camera ready to photograph it.

The photos will make it seem like you are outdoorsy, even if that couldn't be further from the truth.

On the pebbled beach, you can go for a short stroll along the shoreline or lay down a blanket and a book.

In the spring and summer, you'll also enjoy the sweet smell of wildflowers that add an eye-catching burst of colour.

Once you are ready to return, turn around and return the way you came.

Next time you are driving on the Icefields Parkway, in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, make sure to make a quick pit stop here. You won't regret it.
