Calgary's Nighttime Corn Maze Is The Most Magical Way To Experience Fall

There will be thousands of twinkle lights nearby!
Staff Writer

It’s officially fall which means it’s time to do all those classic fall activities like corn mazes. But as an added challenge, we suggest doing it in the dark. Calgary Farmyard's Harvest Nights are the ultimate late-night date activity if you’re looking for the perfect mixture of romance and fun.

Bring on the toques, pumpkin spice lattes, and changing leaves.

Fall is upon us and while we're saying goodbye to the warm summer sun, we're saying hello to a whole lot more.

A staple in Calgary during the fall is the Calgary Farmyard and it’s filled with all the fun fall activities you (and your Instagram page) need.

If you plan on visiting this year, we suggest going during the Harvest Lights festival.

During these evening hours, all the attractions you know and love will be open just with the added beauty of being surrounded by thousands of twinkling lights.

There’s no shortage of things to do at this farm as their website claims there are over 30 attractions to choose from.

This includes things like a petting zoo, mini-golf, potato sack slide, and yard games.

There’s even a massive pumpkin patch where you pick your very own pumpkin and no, it’s never too early to start carving.

The only thing that won’t be lit up is the corn maze.

But just because it’s not sparkling with lights, doesn’t mean it's off-limits.

During the Harvest Lights festival, the employees keep the lights in the corn maze off for a little extra challenge.

Don’t worry, it’s not a haunted corn maze.

You’ll definitely want to bring your own flashlight with some good batteries to help you through this challenge.

Your phone light may work too as long as it’s nice and charged.

Warm clothes are also a must as things are starting to cool down out there.

Tickets to get into the farm are $17.95 per person. This admission fee includes access to the entire farm with a few exceptions including the paintballing and gemstone mining.

The Harvest Lights will take place every Friday to Sunday starting at 5:30 p.m. when things get dark and running until 9 p.m.

If this is fun but you’re looking for a little more of a challenge, try Canada’s scariest corn maze.

It’s what nightmares are made of.
