Some of Canada's travel rules have been updated and now there are some pretty hefty fines attached!

Per a news release issued Monday, the Government of Canada has introduced new obligatory requirements for anybody entering the country.

The new rules will require travellers to submit their information electronically via ArriveCAN, before they even board their flight.

November 21 new rules are implemented

Necessary information includes travel and contact details, a quarantine plan (unless exempted) and a COVID-19 symptom self-assessment.

Travellers may even be asked to show their ArriveCAN receipt upon arrival to Canada.

A border services officer will then ensure the correct information has been shared.

Per the release, anyone who fails to complete the new process properly could face fines of up to $1,000.

The updated regulations have been implemented to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
