Necessary information includes travel and contact details, a quarantine plan (unless exempted) and a COVID-19 symptom self-assessment.

Travellers may even be asked to show their ArriveCAN receipt upon arrival to Canada.

A border services officer will then ensure the correct information has been shared.

Per the release, anyone who fails to complete the new process properly could face fines of up to $1,000.

The updated regulations have been implemented to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
