Out of these cases, 408 of them were from Toronto. Peel reported 212, while Halton had 86.

"There are 837 more resolved cases and nearly 25,300 tests completed," Elliott revealed in a tweet.

As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise across the province, the Ontario government has reverted hotspots back to a modified stage two.

Toronto, Ottawa, York and Peel currently have been forced to close indoor dining, cinemas and gyms in an attempt to stop the disease.

The government is continuing to remind residents of the importance of wearing a face covering and keeping your distance.
