On Friday, December 11, the Government of Canada shared updated data regarding the "rapid growth" of COVID-19 cases in Canada. 

While the data sent to Narcity via email showed a continual rise in case counts daily for the entire country, some provinces are showing more growth than others. And by some, we mean Alberta.

Alberta's curve is seen skyrocketing directly up. In comparison, B.C., Manitoba, and Saskatchewan's curves have started trending back downwards. 

As for cases per capita, data shows the caseloads in various health regions. 

The map shows that all regions in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba have over 100 cases per 100,000 people.

As of right now, Alberta is under strict health restrictions which were just imposed on December 7 and will last until January 8. 

The province has 20,161 active cases with 1,566 new cases having been added on Thursday, December 9. 

Compared to the rest of Canada, Alberta's curve is looking very steep.
