Dairy Queen Has A Brand New Piñata Blizzard Coming To Canada & It's Filled With Candy

No blindfold required.
Contributor

With the summer heat coming on strong, it's the perfect time to indulge in some cool treats. A Dairy Queen Blizzard is one of the best remedies for rising temperatures. This year, Canadians even get one that's more special than usual.

To celebrate its 80th anniversary, the famous soft-serve shop will be serving up the Piñata Party Blizzard. It's basically a surprise party in a cup.

The brand new frozen treat combines confetti cake pieces with pink icing and is topped with whipped topping and edible glitter.

That would already be delicious enough, but there's even more to this Blizzard than meets the eye.

The real surprise is in the middle. Just like an actual piñata, the Blizzard has a centre filled with treats. In this case, it's white chocolate pieces.

You don't even have to put on a blindfold and swing a stick to get at them. All you need is a good old fashioned spoon.

If this sounds like the kind of cold, sweet treat that you'd like to try, then you should know that it's only available for a very limited time, from June 18 to 22, while supplies last.

It's available by drive-thru and takeout at participating locations.*

Plenty of other restaurants are serving up their own summertime desserts for Canadians to enjoy and cool down with.

Burger King Canada is offering customers soft-serve cones and mini-shakes for $1 and $2, respectively.

Baskin Robbins is going even further with its Canadian flavours by re-introducing its delicious butter tart ice cream, just in time for Canada Day.

Anyone looking for a cool drink to sip on a hot day can also check out this year's Starbucks summer menu, which includes three new beverages.

All of these choices would be perfect to combat the oncoming heat waves that Canadians are going to have to contend with, even if summer isn't officially here yet.
