After getting banned from multiple social networks over the past few days, incumbent President Donald Trump has confirmed he's considering making his own site.
We have been negotiating with various other sites, and will have a big announcement soon, while we also look at the possibilities of building out our own platform in the near future.
In addition, Shopify took down a bunch of online stores affiliated with Trump, while Reddit removed a subgroup related to the outgoing president.
Twitter also took aim at Trump loyalists, removing several high-profile accounts closely associated with the U.S. leader.
Experts had predicted that he might move to Parler, a social network used predominantly by the far-right.
However, Google and Apple have since removed it from their app stores, while Amazon committed to taking it off their web hosting service.
Now, it looks like Trump might be considering creating his own site. In a statement on January 8, he said a “big announcement” was on the horizon.
“We also look at the possibilities of building out our own platform in the near future,” he added, per Global News.
After shutting down Trump’s account on Friday, Twitter shared the last of his tweets to his 89 million followers.
He promised that he’d skip Joe Biden’s inauguration, which is set to go ahead as scheduled on January 20, 2021.
