Someone had a late night. After Erin O'Toole was confirmed as the new leader of Canada's Conservative Party, Jason Kenney fired off a series of tweets about just how excited he was for his "friend."

After giving his homie congratulations, he went on to sing his praises.

Erin is a brilliant, principled patriot who is driven by a desire for a stronger Canada.

The tweet included a photo of the two men smiling together.

Kenney posted again in the thread past 11 p.m., further pumping O'Toole's tires.

"I am confident that Erin will be a strong Opposition Leader, and will offer Canadians a compelling & competent alternative for change focussed on economic security at a time of great uncertainty," he wrote.
