Canada Post Are Asking People To Shop Early To Avoid Holiday Disappointments

It's going to be "a Christmas season like no other."
Senior Writer

Halloween just ended but it's already time to start thinking about the holidays. Canada Post's Christmas preparations are underway and the national mail delivery service is asking people to shop early.

If you're going to do holiday shopping online or send gifts to loved ones, you might want to start planning now.

With so many people ordering online because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Canada Post is preparing for "a Christmas season like no other."

To help Canadians avoid disappointment and support businesses across the country, we're asking them to break with tradition and shop early this holiday season.

Canada Post

The company is adding more than 4,000 temporary seasonal employees and more than 1,000 vehicles to its fleet to keep up this holiday season.

Delivery will also happen on weekends in many Canadian communities.

You'll also find that tracking your packages is better because of changes that were made to the technology.

Canada Post is asking people to shop early for the holiday season to help reduce the chances of significant delays.

With holiday surges, packages come in throughout a short period of time which can lead to slowed down deliveries.

Back in April, Canada Post was getting Christmas-like levels of packages to deliver and there were delays.

Last year the deadline to have things be delivered by Christmas was December 11 but that could be earlier this year if there are lots of parcels to get out.
