It's been less than one week since the roll-out began and COVID-19 Vaccine fraud complaints have already been reported to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, according to the RCMP.

The police force took to Twitter to share that the center has received multiple reports of vaccine scams in the country.

Selling counterfeit drugs or vaccines is a criminal activity that poses serious risks to the health and safety of Canadians.

Health Canada

This comes after Health Canada put out a statement this week advising Canadians to be vigilant against fake COVID-19 vaccines on the internet.

“The only way to access safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines is through clinics organized or endorsed by your local public health authority in collaboration with Canada's federal, provincial and territorial governments,” the statement read.

Because of this, the RCMP also listed some tips for Canadians regarding the matter.

First, they ask that residents look out for suspicious emails, calls or texts. Next, they said to follow Health Canada's advice on the matter but to also give their account a follow for real-time information.

Finally, they ask that Canadians educate themselves more on the real COVID-19 vaccine that has just recently made its way to Canada.

According to the RCMP, you can learn more about legitimate vaccines by visiting the Government of Canada website.
