It seems that police have taken matters into their own hands to prevent Adamson Barbecue from hosting indoor dining again.

Officers arrived at the Etobicoke restaurant, accompanied by locksmiths at around 6 a.m., reports 680 News.

Mayor John Tory confirmed Thursday morning that the locks have been changed.

Adamson Barbecue also posted, "Need a locksmith & other hands in Etobicoke asap" on its Instagram story.

This comes after the City of Toronto published a statement about the situation at Adamson Barbecue.

Police issued a summons to the restaurant corporation "to appear in court on two charges of Fail to Comply with an order under the Reopening Ontario Act in relation to a gathering of more than 10 people, which requires a court appearance."

Following a conviction, an officer or a director of a corporation can face a $500,000 penalty and one year in prison under the Act.

The restaurant's owner, Adam Skelly, confirmed yesterday that his corporation "was finally charged under the provincial act."

Skelly could reportedly be facing a fine of $100,000 per day, which is the maximum daily fine for violating gathering rules in Ontario.
