On November 7, Ontario's daily COVID-19 cases that were reported smashed the record that was set for new infections just a few days earlier in the same week. Minister of Health Christine Elliot announced the new figure of 1,132 cases which is the highest daily count the province has seen throughout the pandemic. Before this, the record was set with 1,050 cases reported on November 3. Following those two hot spots, there are 114 cases in York Region, 78 in Ottawa, 64 in Halton and 55 in Hamilton. Also, 852 cases are reported resolved now and over 39,000 tests have been completed. When compared to what the numbers were at about two months ago, this record-breaking figure is a big change. On September 5, the province's new COVID-19 cases hit the highest they had been in a month with 169 reported. There has now been a total of 82,825 cases in Ontario throughout the pandemic.
