The daily report for September 4 indicates that there are 169 new cases in Ontario. There has not been a day with more than that since July 24 when there were 195.

Health Minister Christine Elliott confirmed in a tweet that there were 46 in Peel region and 42 in Toronto.

Additionally, Ottawa reported 30 new cases and York Region counted 19.

Despite the high daily numbers, Elliott said in a second tweet that 28 out of 34 public health units in the province reported five or fewer cases, with 19 of them reporting none at all.

There were also 28,672 tests completed the previous day, bringing the grand total to 3,097,453.

Ontario's daily case numbers have now been over 100 for a solid 10 days.
