The Government of Canada strongly advises Canadians against non-essential international travel. Transport Canada

Prior to this date, travellers departing from places like Haiti, Barbados, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas were not required to show a negative COVID-19 test prior to boarding.

These spots, among a few others, were granted an extension to account for certain COVID-19 testing limitations.

However, this is no longer the case and now travellers from all countries are now required to show the necessary documentation to be able to board a flight to Canada.

This is one of the reasons the Government of Canada continues to urge against all non-essential travel outside of the country right now.

On multiple occasions, officials have warned that the new restrictions could result in Canadians getting stuck outside Canada and unable to return home.

In addition, Justin Trudeau recently revealed that official travel rules could be changed, updated or made stricter with no notice whatsoever and therefore he urged anyone with an upcoming vacation abroad to cancel it.
