The 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) has officially kicked off in Orlando, Florida, and it's already sparked controversy.

"Trump and His Magic Wand," a statue of former president Donald Trump created by sculptor Tommy Zegan, was rolled through the CPAC, and now some are comparing it to the Golden Calf story from the Bible.

In the story of the Golden Calf, from the Old Testament, Israelites melted their gold and formed a statue of a calf so they could have a physical object to worship rather than an invisible deity.

Some say the storyline matches up a little too well with the situation of the Republican party at the CPAC, where a video shows visitors gazing upon the golden statue of Trump.

Others found the statue's appearance among Conservative Christians to be a little ironic.

Trump is scheduled to speak at the conference this Sunday, where a source close to him claims he will say he is the leader of the Republican Party and its future nominee for the 2024 presidential election.
