It's almost time for tricks and treats. There are so many Halloween costumes with face masks you can wear this year that Dr. Theresa Tam would approve of. You can find that perfect blend of spookiness and safety.

While Halloween will be a little different this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it doesn't have to be cancelled entirely.

There are still things you can do to have fun while also staying safe.

Dr. Tam said that masks can be part of a costume in her advice for celebrating the spooky holiday this year.

With trick-or-treating being given the green light in a lot of places in Canada, the country's top doctor said that doing it outside, keeping the right distance apart and wearing a mask is important.

She noted that you can use different fabrics to turn regular face masks into something that goes with your costume.

Even if you're just dressing up at home to hand out candy, wearing a costume that has a face mask is probably a good idea.
