Boo! This Ontario destination is the place to be if you're looking for some spooks this Halloween season. With historic streets, winding alleyways and Victorian houses, the city is straight out of Sleepy Hollow.

Kingston, located on the shores of Lake Ontario, is full of ghostly legends. According to Visit Kingston, it's a "ghost's dream city" as there are "tons of historic stone homes to creep around in and plenty of dark alleyways and narrow streets to jump out from."

The old-world buildings and limestone shops add a touch of charm to the city, but beneath this quaint exterior, Kingston is also home to several places that are said to be haunted.

One notable places that swirls with ghostly tales is Fort Henry. The eerie, 19th-century fortress is believed to be home to a "handful of spirits," one of which can sometimes be seen "creeping around in his tattered blue uniform," according to Visit Kingston.

Each Halloween season, the site hosts Fort Fright — a ghoulish haunted house experience.

Another place to check out is the Kingston Penitentiary — a historic prison that might not be as deserted as it seems.

If you're feeling brave, head to Skeleton Park, which was "once a massive cemetery with over ten thousand graves," according to South Eastern Ontario. There have been reports of "supernatural incidents" and more over the years.

Rochleau Court has some sinister tales hidden beneath its enchanting scenery. The network of alleyways and carriageways is said to be by a spirit.

If you're looking to explore some spooky sites, you can hop aboard the Ghost & Mystery Trolley or join a Haunted Walk to learn more about the city's dark past.

Happy ghost hunting!
