IKEA is opening a new distribution centre in southern Ontario.

So, you'll have a "more convenient" way to get products from the furniture retailer.

IKEA Canada announced on March 18, 2025, that the construction of the new IKEA Hamilton Customer Distribution Centre and Collection Point is officially underway.

According to the retailer, opening this distribution centre will enhance the retail experience so it's "even more affordable and convenient for Canadians."

The new 483,285 square foot distribution centre will be at 212 Glover Road — just 20 minutes south of downtown Hamtilon and close to Brantford, Grimsby and St. Catharines.

IKEA's Customer Distribution Centre in Hamilton will help to ensure products are readily available, delivery times are short, and local shopping needs are met.

The Hamilton Customer Distribution Centre will feature a Collection Point where customers can pick up their IKEA orders.

According to IKEA, the order pick-up option will make it "more convenient" for people living in or near Hamilton.

This is meant to support customers in transforming their spaces with "affordable and convenient access" to IKEA's services.

Since the closest IKEA store is in Burlington, you can save on delivery fees by picking up your order at the distribution centre if you live in this area!

Since this will be a distribution centre with a pick-up area, you can only get items when you order ahead. IKEA products and food won't be available for immediate takeaway.

It's expected that the Customer Distribution Centre in Hamilton will open in the summer of 2027.

IKEA's Hamilton Customer Distribution Centre will create thousands of jobs, including warehouse, delivery, kitchen installation, design services, and assembly positions.

The other IKEA stores in southern Ontario are in Burlington, Etobicoke, North York, Scarborough, downtown Toronto and Vaughan.
