BC's Premier Says Non-Essential Travel Is Prohibited & Wants Trudeau To Agree

"We need a pan-Canadian approach to travel."
Contributor

On Wednesday, November 18, B.C.'s Premier, John Horgan, addressed the public in a live media availability.

He briefly touched on the state of COVID-19 in the province, saying that we need to give the new restrictions that began on November 9 a chance to take hold and make an impact.

He also touched on travel. "When it comes to travel, non-essential travel is prohibited in British Columbia and it will remain that way for the next two weeks at least," said the premier.

He went on to say that we need a "pan-Canadian approach to travel," explaining that he wants people from all over the province and beyond to be operating under the same travel restrictions.

"Everyone needs to live under the same rules," said Horgan.

The politician said a COVID-19 update will be coming tomorrow during Dr. Henry's address, though he didn't indicate what would be included in that announcement.

He said he needs people in other provinces not to come to B.C. unless it's for an essential reason and this is what he would like Justin Trudeau's help with mandating.
