Max Kerman, lead singer of the Arkells, sat down for Narcity's qNa series to talk about making music, adapting to creative challenges and the band's latest music video.

According to Kerman, the band formed after some chance encounters at McMaster University, where he and future bandmates, Mike DeAngelis and Nick Dika, bonded over their taste in music.

Recently, the Arkells released their new song, "You Can Get It," which Kerman says is about "being weighed down by the news cycle and this idea of don't let this weigh you down."

Despite the challenges of the lockdown, Kerman explains the band continued to produce music and videos.

"We're all learning new skills that can be taken into life outside of the pandemic," Kerman said.
