A New Word Was Just Added To The Dictionary For Kamala Harris' Husband

Kamala Harris made history this year as the first African American, Asian American, and female to hold the office of Vice President in the U.S., but her husband is also becoming the first in history to hold his position.

In fact, his new title was not even recognized as a real word in Merriam-Webster's Dictionary until now.

As husband to the Vice President, Emhoff has officially become the first "Second Gentleman" in the history of the United States, and his title is now officially recognized in Merriam-Webster's Dictionary.

The term Second Gentleman (noun) is defined as "the husband or male partner of a vice president or second in command of a country or jurisdiction." 

Emhoff is honored to serve as the country's first Second Gentlemen and says he will build on the legacies of the Second Women that preceded him.
