An “extremely concerning” incident took place involving a female traveller receiving threatening AirDrop messages from a stranger. Metro Vancouver Transit Police are now investigating.

According to CTV News, an unidentified woman has stated that a stranger threatened to rape her through a message sent using the iPhone's AirDrop feature. The message was from "Justins iphone."

I should have stood up and asked 'Justin' to show his face.


The woman, who's chosen to remain anonymous 

The victim posted on Facebook about the incident, saying she boarded the bus at Newton Exchange in Surrey at around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14. 

The lone female traveller said that within minutes of sitting down she received a photo from “Justins iphone" via AirDrop with the caption “I’m going to rape you.”

While she declined the photo transfer, she did take a screenshot of the message and transit police are now investigating.
