Just 1% Of People Who Got Tested For Coronavirus In Canada Were Positive
Over 4 million total tests to date!
Tens of thousands are getting tested for the novel coronavirus every week in Canada, but relatively fewcompared to how many get tested.
In a written statement from Canada's Chief Public Health Officer, Dr. Theresa Tam, on Sunday, August 2, the nation's top doctor confirmed that only 1% of those tested in the past week had the virus.
Over the past week, an average of 40,665 people were tested daily, with 1% testing positive.

According to Tam, an average of 461 cases were reported every day across Canada, leading to a national total of 116,599 — 87% of whom have recovered.
In contrast, a total of 4,098,752 people have been tested for COVID-19 to date.
Tam continued by acknowledging thethat many are facing during the pandemic, and urged people to reach out for help should they need it.
