It's been a scorcher! But just how hot is July in Ottawa? Well, this year the month is tied for having the most 30+ C days ever.

The Weather Network has released data that shows Canada's capital is tied with 2012 for having the most days in July where the temperature was at or above 30 C.

18

the number of days where the temperature reached or exceeded 30 C in July this year

It's important to note that the 18 days that have reached this threshold doesn't include days where the humidity brought the temperature in the 30s.

According to The Weather Network's forecast for Ottawa, the last two days of the month aren't expected to be at or above 30 C.

So, 2020 will most likely stay tied with 2012 for the most days of 30+ C temperatures in July.

After 2020 and 2012, there were 16 days like this in 1955 and 15 in 2018.

The Weather Network used climate data from 1935 to the present to figure this all out.
