The Essex City OPP, with help from a U.S. pleasure craft,  carried out an emergency Ontario boat rescue after a family of five's vessel capsized on Monday, August 10.

The family's boat had been knocked over from the waves of two passing freight liners. The OPP West Region Twitter account said that injuries were avoided throughout the rescue.

The incident occured on the Detroit River, located close to the U.S./Canada border, which is why an American boater happened to be around to help the family.

According to CTV London, the two adults and three children were able to avoid injuries as everyone was wearing life jackets ahead of the capsizing.

This incident comes after a number of other recent drownings and rescue missions around the province.
