For the first time in 30 years, the sounds of chainsaws buzzing and guests screaming won't fill Universal Orlando Resort this year.

Universal's Halloween Horror Nights, one of the more popular annual events at the resort, was canceled thanks to COVID-19.

We know this decision will disappoint our fans and guests. We are disappointed, too. But we look forward to creating an amazing event in 2021.

They made the tough call to cancel the event for 2020 to focus on its daytime operations.

Started in 1990, the two-month-long event became a must for fans of the resort. 

The "pain will be temporary," as the frights will be back in 2021.
