A dreamy island, turquoise waters and powdery white sand shores might sound like something you'd find in the tropics, but you can experience it all at this breathtaking Ontario destination.

Offering beautiful views, sparkling waves and summertime magic, it's a gorgeous spot to soak up some sun and enjoy the season to the fullest.

Manitoulin Island is a majestic hidden gem located on the shining waters of Lake Huron. It's the largest freshwater island in the world and offers a range of things to see and do, from waterfall hikes to historic lighthouses and more.

A highlight of the island is Providence Bay Beach. The destination offers 2 kilometres of powdery white sand and shimmering waters that will make you feel like you've travelled to a different country.

It's "said to be the nicest beach in Northern Ontario," according to the Municipality of Central Manitoulin, and boasts beautiful sunsets, vast open skies and more.

It's also "never crowded," making it an idyllic spot to unwind and enjoy a serene beach experience.

You can relax on the silky shores, take a dip in the turquoise waves, and imagine you're vacationing in the tropics.

The beach boasts an epic boardwalk with elevated platforms that offer stunning views of the rolling dune system.

Nearby, you'll find cozy eateries and shops where you can treat yourself to an ice cream cone after a day spent in the sun.

To reach Providence Bay Beach, you can drive over the Little Current Swing Bridge or take the Chi‑Cheemaun ferry from Tobermory and drive for about 30 minutes to the beach. There is free parking at Providence Bay.

With its shimmering, crystal water and quiet, white sand shores, Providence Bay Beach is the place to go for a magical summer escape.
