With a new month comes a slew of new government benefits and credits. For the month of July, Canadians can expect to receive a handful of financial aid from programs set forth by both the federal and provincial governments.

Eligible Ontario residents should be on the lookout for a payment from the Ontario Trillium Benefit, a monthly benefit sent out to low-to-moderate income households throughout Ontario.

Per the Canada Revenue Agency, it's important to verify your eligibility for the Ontario Trillium Benefit as you could be entitled to hundreds of dollars depending on your age, income, family size and more.

It combines the Northern Ontario Energy Credit, Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit, and Ontario Sales Tax Credit. To receive this benefit, you must be eligible for at least one of these three credits.
