A Mexican Wrestling-Themed Eatery Is Opening In Orlando Next Week

Hotdogs can be just as versatile as salads. Even if they're a bit less healthy, you can dress them up and top them with pretty much whatever you want! A Mexican wrestling-inspired restaurant in Orlando, Cholo Dogs, is opening next week — and they're no stranger to creative dogs. The ween-slinging cart has rolled around downtown for some time, and they're finally getting a permanent location in The City Beautiful's SoDo district.
Narcity spoke with owner Franco Furtero, who confirmed they'll be opening on Monday, June 15. Cholo Dogs will be taking over a vacant spot at the Market on Magnolia, operating between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Furtero explained that the limited hours are due to him still traveling and doing private wrestling shows, but they may adjust them in the future.
Manned by Franco Furtero, who used to be a ring brawler himself, these Mexican style “weens” transcend borders and recipes.
These dogs are decked out with all kinds of spices, sauces, and toppings, offering something for everyone. They even have an elote-inspired ween for you corncob queens called the El Borracho.
The menu is also getting expanded to include salads and four new creative dogs — as well as whispers of a vegan option rumored to be named "The Swifty."
While the food cart has been hard to miss with its vibrant wrestling scene paint job, the interior of the new location will be just as colorful and full of personality.
Franco’s many “faces” stand in line by the menu, as well as flashy colors and patterns on the counter and walls. There’s also a full bar with tons of refreshments on tap.
Hotdog lovers will want to come hungry and ready to rumble next week at the opening of Cholo Dogs!
