Canada’s COVID-19 Alert App Has Now Been Downloaded By Over 4 Million People

But Trudeau wants it to be downloaded even more. 📲
Managing Editor, Canada

According to Trudeau, millions of people are doing their part by downloading Canada’s COVID-19 Alert App.

In a tweet shared on October 15, the prime minister confirmed that over 4 million Canadians have now downloaded the program on their phones and devices.

Although this is already a huge number, the PM urged even more people to get involved.

4.4 million Canadians have downloaded the app

After encouraging Canadians to use the app, Trudeau added, “Then you can get back to scrolling through social media - while also doing your part to slow the spread of COVID-19.”

Last week, he congratulated Canada as the program topped the iPhone and Google Play app charts.

“Every download makes it stronger,” he wrote at the time.

This isn’t the first time he's taken to Twitter to promote the application, either.

Back in September, when Canada’s COVID-19 cases topped 153,000, he urged, “Use the COVID Alert app to protect yourself, your loved ones, and our front line workers.”

As of October 15, eight provinces can access the system, including all four Atlantic provinces, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan.
