A 'Drive-On' Movie Theatre Is Coming To Ottawa This Week & You Can Bring Your Whole Bubble

You can fill your car with up to five people from your social circle!
Managing Editor, Canada

Movie night is back on the cards! If you’ve been missing the theatre experience, there’s good news ahead. Ottawa’s “drive-on” movie theatre is kicking-off this week, but it’s only going to be around for a limited time.

If you’ve already made plans for the weekend, cancel them. A brand new drive-in movie theatre experience is coming to Ottawa on June 18, and you won’t want to miss out!

In an announcement on Wednesday, Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group revealed that the sports field at TD Place will soon be transformed into a limited-time-only movie experience.

The event is being described as a “drive-on” film night, allowing Ottawans to bring some movie magic back into their lives.

Beginning on June 18, the experience will run through June 21, with the movies starting at 8pm every night.

Tickets will be sold per vehicle, and vehicles can have a maximum occupancy of five people.

Priced at just $30 per car, you could nab a ticket for just $6 if you split the cost between your whole bubble.

Ofcourse, you should only jump in a car with people from your current social circle, per Ontario’s physical distancing rules.

Whether you’re looking to watch an older movie, or something that’s been released fairly recently, TD Place is showing a mixed selection of films.

The upcoming schedule looks like this;

Thursday, June 18: Remember the Titans

Friday, June 19: Pirates of the Caribbean

Saturday, June 20: Guardians of the Galaxy

Sunday, June 21: Star Wars, The Last Jedi

If you’re interested in the event, make sure to book your tickets in advance, as there’s a limited number of vehicles allowed in every night.

Throughout the film attendees will be required to stay in the car at all times, in accordance with public health guidelines in the province.

Sadly, you can’t bring lawn chairs or pets with you, and there will be no food and drinks available to buy on site.

RVs and campers are not permitted in the stadium.
