If you were looking forward to one of Amazon's biggest sales of the season, you'll be waiting a little longer. Prime Day was postponed in Canada and it's all because of COVID-19.

Narcity confirmed that the annual event, which is supposed to happen in June of this year, has been put on pause in Canada and also in India.

The move is due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19 in both countries and to protect Amazon employees there. No new date has been announced yet.

The sale will go ahead as scheduled in other countries like the United States, China, the U.K. and other European nations, CNBC reports.

This is not the first time Prime Day has been impacted by the pandemic. In 2020, the deal was pushed back to the fall because of COVID-19.
