Quebec provincial police are reminding parents to check their children's trick-or-treating haul after receiving reports of sharp metal objects found in Halloween candy.

A police spokesman says there have been two calls about needles found in chocolate or candy in Drummondville, about 100 kilometres northeast of Montreal.

Louis-Philippe Ruel says no children or adults were hurt.

He says parents should always inspect their children's candy, and report any dangerous objects to police.

Someone also called police to report a sharp piece of metal in a piece of chocolate in the small town of St-Marcel, east of Quebec City.

Police say they are investigating the reports.
