Shania Twain was caught "bullying" Ryan Reynolds over Instagram and the Vancouver-born actor had the best response.

It's the latest in an ongoing joke between the Canadian celebrities, which started at the People's Choice Awards in 2022.

On Tuesday, Twain shared that she had been nominated for a People's Choice Award and she's asking for votes.

"Vote for me and I'll promise to stop bullying @vancityreyolds," the singer wrote along with a couple of emojis that implied she was joking and sending love to Reynolds.

It didn't take long for the Deadpool actor to respond and he sent the love right back.

"I WISH this was how bullies expressed themselves when I was in high school," Reynolds wrote in his Instagram stories on Monday.

"A vote for @shaniatwain is a vote for love."

This all started in 2022 when Twain swapped out the lyrics in her hit song "That Don't Impress Me Much."

Rather than sticking to her original lyric "Okay, so you're Brad Pitt, That don't impress me much," she swapped it to include Reynolds with, "Okay, so you're Ryan Reynolds."

The camera then showed Reynolds sitting in the audience who mouthed, "Oh my god, me?" and laughed.

Reynolds then spoke out about how he felt at that moment when he was interviewed by a student at an Ontario high school.

He jokingly said "it's about time" when asked what his reaction was.

"Maybe it's because I grew up in Canada and I sort of tend to rely on laughing at myself as a defence mechanism, but in those moments you have to be pretty gracious," he added.

It's clear the two Canadian celebrities have nothing but love for each other.

Twain has been nominated for the Female Country Artist of the Year award at the 2024 People's Choice Awards.

The awards show will be held on February 18 and will be hosted by fellow Canadian actor Simu Liu.
