First Nations Members Are Getting Shut Out In Alberta Because Of Their COVID-19 Cases
Dr. Hinshaw had stern words about the recent "discrimination."

Members of an Alberta First Nations community are facing discrimination due to their recently reported COVID-19 cases.
On Tuesday, July 14, Dr. Deena Hinshaw said that Siksika First Nation members have been calling in to report that they're not being let into local businesses. These reports follow several confirmed COVID-19 cases in the community.

The members of the Siksika First Nation deserve better than that. All Albertans of every heritage deserve better than that.

She added that this sort of discrimination builds stigma among community members, which may prevent them from coming forward and getting tested.
As of July 13, Siksika First Nation has 11 active cases.
In total, they've had 28 cases of COVID-19 so far.
