I Compared McDonald's Canada's Adult Happy Meal To The Kids' One & It's Worth Every Extra Dollar
The McDonald's "adult Happy Meal" has finally arrived in Canada, over a year after its first appearance in the United States. It's a mix of delicious food and pure nostalgia, but is it better than simply buying the made-for-kids Happy Meal that's still on the McD's menu?
The new McDonald's Canada Happy Meal is called the Kerwin Frost Box, and it comes in a colourful and fun package, similar to the kids' Happy Meals, but geared toward older and bigger people.
Even though there are some similarities between the kids and "adult Happy Meals" at McDonald's Canada, there are many differences that might stop you from buying one over the other. I compared them both to help you choose next time your at your closest McDonald's.

With McDonald's Canada's latest menu addition, the Kerwin Frost Box, adults can expect to find a few goodies beyond the classic combo.
When ordering the adult Happy Meal, you can choose between a 10-piece Chicken McNugget box or a Big Mac.
In a traditional Happy Meal, customers have many options, including a 4-piece Chicken McNugget, Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Crispy Chicken Snack Wrap or Hotcakes.
In both meals, guests will get McDonald's famous fries, although the kids' meal comes with a smaller bag. You can also get cantaloupe chunks in the kids' Happy Meal.
Both meals come with a beverage but again, the size differs, one being small and the other medium.
And yes, there is a toy in each meal!

The McDonald's Canada "adult Happy Meal," also known as the Kerwin Frost Box, is so artistic you'll want to save it in your closet to show future generations. Seriously, it looks like a work of art.
All the McNugget Buddies are on the box. It's also around twice the size of the kids' meal and more rectangular rather than square, which makes sense because there's larger-sized food in the box.
Similar to the kids' Happy Meal, you'll be grabbing your adult box from the iconic golden arches that seal the box together.
Does the Adult Happy Meal from McDonald's Canada come with a toy?
Yes, yes and yes!
The toy might be the best part of any kids' meal, and at McDonald's, you can always expect to enjoy a different toy.
McDonald's has the same vibe going with the Kerwin Frost Box, which comes with a variety of limited-edition McNugget Buddy toys designed by the artist himself.
"Kerwin Frost is an artist from Harlem, most well known for his work within fashion and music. He is a creative director, a DJ, street style icon and host of his own interview series," McDonald's stated on their website.
There are six different Frost Way characters that you can collect, and each character comes with its own story and personality. Additionally, if you buy the Kerwin Frost Box through the McDonald's app, you'll also have access to a fun interactive game.
Currently, the kids' Happy Meal is offering either a book or a toy. This time, the theme is Crash Bandicoot, which is a game I still play.
But I must say, the "adult Happy Meal" is a lot more exciting.
How much is a McDonald's "adult Happy Meal" compared to the kids size?
There is a price difference between a McDonald's Adult Happy Meal and a kids one, but it's a cost that might be worth spending, depending on your priorities, of course.
A Happy Meal with 4 McNuggets, small fries, child-sized Coca-Cola, and a toy is $6.09 with tax at my local Toronto McDonald's.
The Kerwin Frost Box is $18.41 with tax, but it comes with 10-piece chicken nuggets, medium fries and drink, and a toy.
If you drop the "adult Happy Meal" elements and go with a regular 10-piece McNugget meal with medium fries and a drink, it'll cost you $16.03 with tax.
But what if you want to double up? You could buy two Happy Meals and get close to the same amount of food, plus two toys for a lower price. You'd also have the option to mix and match so you can get a Cheeseburger and four McNuggets for less than the price of one Kerwin Frost Box.
Which is better? That's up to you and your inner child!
These prices are confirmed at the time of publishing, but they can change at any time. Taxes and fees may not be included.
