These 6 Canadian Cities Have Faster-Growing Populations Than All The Rest

Some of them might surprise you!

While people seem to be leaving the country's major cities in droves, there are a few Canadian cities that have actually been seeing a big increase in population recently.

Statistics Canada has just released data regarding changes to the country's population between 2019 and 2020.

38,005,238  People in Canada, the highest ever.

While Canada's population was quickly on the rise between 2019 and 2020, we can't say the same for places like Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver, where the numbers are growing very slowly but the cities are also seeing a record-high for people who are moving away.

Meanwhile, people seem to be flocking to some other, less-assuming places.

The country's top population growth goes to Oshawa, Ontario (up 2.1%).

Next in line in terms of growth are Halifax and Kitchener–Cambridge–Waterloo (both up 2%).

Next, tied at an increase of 1.9% are Kelowna, Calgary, and Saskatoon.

The Canadian city that's the lowest on the growth chart is Thunder Bay, Ontario.
