When it comes to the best retailers in Ontario, a new study and ranking shows which ones come out on top by having the greatest in-store customer experiences.

Leger has put out its WOW study for 2020 which looks at how stores are performing and how shoppers feel about those stores.

The study found that while retailers have been feeling the impact of evolving COVID-19 restrictions in Ontario, only about 20% of customers said that health and safety changes have affected their shopping experience in a big way.

Reitmans takes the top spot in the study's rankings of the retailers with the best in-store customer experiences.

Lush, The Body Shop, Saje and LEGO round out the top five.

Those are followed by MEC, Fire & Flower Cannabis Co., M&M Food Market, Bath & Body Works, Yves Rocher, Nespresso and Lee Valley.

The study said that in-store customer experiences "improved significantly" at clothing, sports and beauty retailers compared to 2019.

Canada's retailers with the best online customer experiences were also ranked.
