It's not too late to plan a little summer escape. If you're looking for a magical day trip or weekend getaway, you may want to head to this enchanting small town near Toronto. The destination was named the top summer vacay spot in Canada for 2024 and with its European vibes and charming streets, it's easy to see why.

In April, Airbnb revealed its 2024 summer travel trends for Canadians in a press release, featuring everything from overseas excursions to provincial adventures.

The company told Narcity that this Ontario small town, located near Toronto, is the top trending domestic destination for Canadians this summer.

At just two hours from the city, it's a charming place to escape for a day or longer and enjoy some summer sun.

Blue Mountain Village, located near Collingwood, is a pedestrian village brimming with European charm. The four-season destination features cobblestone streets, cute shops, eateries, outdoor activities and more.

During the summer months, you can hike along scenic trails, ride a giant water tricycle around a pond, ride the open-air gondola, speed through a forest on a mountain coaster and more.

The Village is located close to Scandinave Spa, so you can also pop over there for some rest and relaxation.

One other Ontario destination made it to the top 10 trending domestic destinations for Canadians this summer. St. Catharines features sparkling waters, delicious restaurants and more, making it an idyllic spot for a warm-weather vacay.
