Summer is just around the corner, and it's time to start planning some trips.

If you're not sure where to go, the top places to visit in Canada for summer 2024 have been revealed, and they include small towns with European flair and destinations with tons of outdoor adventures.

Airbnb has revealed the top summer vacation spots in Canada for 2024, detailing the best places to visit in the country if you're looking for the perfect staycation.

In a press release shared with Narcity, Airbnb laid out the top 10 domestic travel spots to visit this year. Here are the top three destinations for Canadians:

Blue Mountain, Ontario

Located about two hours from Toronto, the Blue Mountains is a year-round Ontario vacation spot known for its spas, beaches, and skiing and snowboarding. The destination was named the top vacation spot in the country for summer 2024.

Blue Mountain Resort is a popular place to visit, with beautiful nature, a luxurious Scandinavian spa and a pedestrian village that feels like a slice of Europe.

During the summer months here, you can hike along scenic trails, ride an open-air gondola, speed through a forest on a mountain coaster and more.

Just 30 minutes away, you'll find Wasaga Beach, one of the province's top beaches with white sand and pristine shores.

La Haute-Gaspésie, Quebec

Named the second top vacation spot in the country, La Haute-Gaspésie in Quebec is where you'll find quaint coastal villages nestled between towering cliffs and the endless Gulf of St. Lawrence.

A nature lover's paradise, the region offers hang-gliding, canyoning, ziplining, an open-air geode mine, and hiking in Gaspésie National Park in Saint-Anne-des-Monts, which is home to more than 25 peaks over 1,000 metres high.

In the national park, you can also enjoy kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, fishing and biking, and may be able to spot moose.

Quebec City, Quebec

Finally, Quebec City was named the third top destination for summer in Canada.

With its cobblestone streets, French culture and historic old town, Quebec City is a Canadian destination where you can get a taste of Europe.

Must-visit spots here include Old Quebec, which is full of local shops and charming little streets, including the fairytale-like Rue du Petit Champlain, visiting the Château Frontenac hotel, Quebec City’s most famous landmark, admiring the Basilica Cathedral Notre-Dame de Québec, and checking out the art galleries and antique shops of the Old Port.

Nature lovers will enjoy Montmorency Falls, a waterfall that's even taller than Niagara Falls located in a scenic park, and foodies will love Quebec City's booming gastronomic scene.

Other top destinations for Canadians this summer include more under-the-radar spots like Kananaskis, Alberta, where you can spot incredible wildlife like moose, elk and bears, and Dieppe, New Brunswick, which offers a European downtown and proximity to one of the warmest beaches in Canada.
