A 58-year-old Brampton woman was rushed to the hospital after being shot in her home on Wednesday.

According to Peel Regional Police, the Brampton shooting occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m., after two suspects, both of whom are described as 5-foot-10 Asian males, arrived at a residence located near Don Minaker Drive and Gore Road.

The suspects reportedly rang the doorbell and banged on the door of the residence. When the woman answered, several rounds were fired at her.

"The woman was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition. She is not believed to be the intended target but possibly someone who resided at the residence previously," police said in a statement.

The suspects reportedly fled the scene in Cadillac Escalade. The suspects are believed to be dangerous and, if spotted, residents should call 911.
