If you aren't afraid of anything and have always dreamed of being someone's worst nightmare, then applying for a job at Canada's Wonderland's Halloween Haunt might be your dream come true.
From dressing up as a haunting monster and scaring the crap out of park-goers, to turning the spooky factor up a notch by applying ghastly makeup and prosthetics, there are eight different jobs under Cedar Fair Entertainment you can apply to right now, and join this year's Haunt.
Halloween Haunt Monster, Fall, Part-Time
Salary: $14.40/hour
Who Should Apply: If you live and breathe horror movies, this is your chance to live out your fantasy as a monster and startle guests as they creep through the mazes. Applicants must be able to work in dark, confined spaces with lots of noise, work in fog and strobe lighting, and also be able to wear a latex mask for long periods of time.
Halloween Haunt Atmosphere Performer, Fall, Part-Time
Salary: $14.75/hour
Who Should Apply: If you're a natural-born performer, love improv, or have a totally weird special talent that sets you apart from your average maze monster, this is could be your calling. Let your inner theatre kid out, with a pinch of darkness.
Halloween Haunt Special Effects Makeup Artist, Fall, Part-Time
Who Should Apply: If you're currently specializing in special effects, are a graduate of a special effects makeup program, or have industry experience in the field, you can toss your brushes into the ring for this position. You'll get to put on makeup and prosthetics to all of the monsters on site.
Halloween Haunt Maze Attendant, Fall, Part-Time
Salary: Minimum wage
Who Should Apply: Not cut out for scaring people, but still want to be in on the action? Apply to work as a maze attendant where you get to ensure everyone's safety and that everything is running smoothly. Applicants must be available to work late on weekends.
Halloween Haunt Costumer & Stitcher, Fall and Winter
Salary: $16.00/hour
Who Should Apply: If you have an eye for detail and know everything there is to know about theatrical wardrobe, costuming, or fashion (or are currently enrolled in a program), then Wonderland is looking for you. You must also have a solid understanding of fabrics and all the necessary equipment you would need for costume design.
Halloween Haunt Technician, Fall and Winter, Part-Time
Salary: $16.00/hour
Who Should Apply: If you like working behind the scenes and understand all the technicalities of theatre, then this job is for you. From troubleshooting technical problems to maintaining the super spooky qualities of the haunt, this is the ultimate techie job.
Halloween Haunt Maze Usher, Fall, Part-Time
Salary: Minimum wage
Who Should Apply: You get to make the most out of each guest's haunting experience by keeping an eye on the crowds, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Haunt ushers are also tasked with providing "the highest possible standard of guest service" while also maintaining the cleanliness of the maze.
Halloween Haunt Maze Supervisor
Who Should Apply: Want to be the person in charge of keeping all the monsters in line? As Maze Supervisor, you'll get to manage all monsters and maze attendants while working alongside the maze technician to ensure everything runs safely and smoothly.
