The government has just announced that those eligible to book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment in Ontario will be expanded to everyone 12 years and older starting this weekend.

In a press release, the government revealed that appointments will open to this younger age group starting at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 23.

Anyone who is eligible can book through the provincial booking system. Additionally, children can also book appointments at select pharmacies that are currently administering the Pfizer vaccine.

Children who have not turned 12 years old by Sunday, May 23 will have to book an appointment at a later date after their birthday has occurred.

The province expects to have the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine administered to all children 12 and over by the end of June and the second dose by the end of August.
